Dissei is an AI-native finance firm.
We believe AI fundamentally changes the economics of building a finance firm and access to credit. That is why Dissei exists: AI-native lending reaches companies the old cost structure could not.
Dissei forms a joint venture with each lending partner: a shared lending business where the partner originates and underwrites with specialist judgement, and Dissei puts capital and capacity behind their expertise. Dissei provides flexible capital and an operating platform that works like a full analyst team behind every joint venture. Dissei makes every credit decision, and once approved the joint venture deploys the capital.
Real lending creates a proprietary record of financial judgement that cannot be scraped or crowdsourced. Our edge is know-how. We build new methods from first principles, combining deep domain expertise in finance with research, to create high-quality data. Rights-cleared, anonymised records from eligible activity may improve Dissei’s financial reasoning systems, and better systems sharpen underwriting, monitoring and operations. From the same rights-cleared work we also provide financial reasoning environments, evaluations and training data to model builders and financial institutions.
Data complex enough to teach today’s frontier models financial judgment is not solved by hiring experts or renting annotators. It is a research and engineering problem, and we treat it with the same rigor as work on training algorithms and model architectures. The expertise is in-house, from our own lending practice, and the methods are new, built from first principles with research. We are not an expert network or a data marketplace.
A small team working across lending, software and AI.
We hire by introduction or from shipped work.

Dissei builds the software behind its lending business in-house. We look for three things in an engineer: the ability to understand the financial mechanics, the craft to build the system properly and the judgement to stand behind it when real money runs through it.
The particular stack has never made anyone good; thinking clearly has. We can teach you lending, but we have never taught anyone to be curious. Show us something you built because you could not leave the problem alone.
We turn hard financial decisions into work that models can be trained and measured on. The first rule is not fooling yourself, and in this job you are the easiest person to fool.
We want people who measure carefully, distrust their own results and can defend a number line by line. Any background will do if you can show us one thing you got right and know exactly why. Volume has never impressed us; being right has.
Most people choose between finance and software early and spend a career defending the choice. This front-office role is for someone who refused.
You work on real transactions, then build the tools that make the next one sharper. We do not care where you started; we care what you can do on both sides. Worldly wisdom, a latticework of models from more than one discipline, is the job.
The kind of thinking behind this role: A complete framework for developing views · Off the run: first look under forty
This role leads our most important partnerships and the work that fits no org chart. The method is simple: know the work cold, say the true thing plainly and never promise what you cannot back.
A reputation takes years to build and minutes to lose. We want a builder of trust, not a runner of playbooks; incentives and follow-through beat charm over any period longer than lunch.
Tell us about a partnership you ran where both sides came back for more.
Good people rarely fit the boxes someone else drew. If none of the roles above describes you but the work does, tell us who you are and what you would build here.
We would rather write a role around the right person than lose them to a job title. The bar does not move: creativity, technical depth and the habit of thinking for yourself. The process is the same: application, project, then a paid week inside the team.
Short application. A real project. Then a paid week working inside the team. We test extensively. The project shows how you think; the week shows how you work with the team. An offer follows the week. No cover letters.
03 · ApplyOne application is enough. We consider it for every open role and find the best fit, so there is no need to apply twice. If other roles interest you, say so in the note. We read every application; expect a reply within a week.
